The Itinerary

Our popular evening walks typically attract 20+ group members. Afterwards, we'll regroup at Mellow Mushroom, Brick, Southern Grounds, or another nearby restaurant for a walk-in dinner or casual lite bite.

The Route

Follow St. Johns Avenue southwest to Herschel Street. Cross Big Fishwier Creek, making a quick left on to Woodmere Drive.

Follow Woodmere Drive south along the shoreline to San Juan Avenue. Then head east on San Juan about 300 meters to Stinson Park, stopping briefly for a rest or photo opportunity.

Retrace route back to Avondale.

Optional (+15 minutes): Cross Ortega Drawbridge before returning to Avondale.

The Nickel Tour

The Shoppes of Avondale is one of Jacksonville's most idyllic and vital commercial centers. Replete with casual and fine dining, plus an ample number of quaint stores, Avondale is the perfect place to spend an enjoyable afternoon or evening.

Baker Point Park and Stinson Park both abut the St. John's River, anchoring the start of the Ortega Drawbridge. Adequately sized and well kept, each park offers visitors sweeping views of the St. John's River, Ortega, and downtown Jacksonville.

The Nickel Tour

Founded by wine connoisseurs with an eye for the finest red and white wines from Napa Valley and Sonoma, SoNapa Grille eventually evolved into a full service restaurant.

Pair a flavorful glass of wine with any of SoNapa's chef-inspired cuisine, while you relax in its chique dining room. There's also a fully stocked bar with a wide assortment of spirits, all perfect complements to a rich and sumptuous entree.

With additional locations in New Smyrna Beach and Ormond Beach, Florida, SoNapa Grille has established itself as one of the region's finer places to eat. Lucky for us, there's another location just minutes away at Jacksonville Beach!

The Itinerary

Let's meet to explore the new RiversEdge Park in Southbank. We'll walk for about 75-90 minutes - enjoying the 7:50pm sunset - before returning to the Aardwolf Brewery in San Marco by way of Friendship Fountain and San Marco Blvd.

Note that this route differs from our past San Marco events. It's all new for 2026!

1. Park under Route 95 overpass off Hendricks between Naugle St. and Louisa St, just south of Dogtopia. Walk 3 minutes south to Aardwolf.

The Route

*All new for 2026* - We'll walk from Aardwolf towards the Riverwalk, heading east towards the new RiversEdge Park.

Next, we'll explore the new RiversEdge park in detail, including an amazing boardwalk set above a natural landscape.

Optionally, the last stop will be a loop around Friendship Fountain before returning to the brewery starting point.

Picturesque San Marco is one of Jacksonville's most famous neighborhoods. Its unique buildings - some of which were built in the Mediterranean Revival style - capture both the eye and the imagination. Combined with sweeping views of the St. John's River and convenient access to both downtown and points north and south, San Marco can't be missed.

What's Happening

The Itinerary

Join us for our April Beach Party & Social off Jacksonville Beach's 7th Avenue North entrance, north of Margaritaville beyond the volleyball nets. Look for a green tent with cornhole set up in front.

This will be the first Beach Party for 2026, and will also serve as a Meet and Greet for new members. April weather and temperatures should be very pleasant: not too hot, not too cold either!

Note: Bring water, sunscreen, and a long-sleeved shirt just in case it's breezy.
